Robert Frost: Fire and Ice / Plamen i led

Some say the world will end in fire, 
Some say in ice. 
From what I’ve tasted of desire 
I hold with those who favour fire. 
But if it had to perish twice, 
I think I know enough of hate 
To say that for destruction ice 
Is also great 
And would suffice.

Neki kažu da smak će svijeta bit plamen, 
neki kažu led. 
No jer okusih strasti znamen, 
slažem se s onima što kažu – plamen. 
A kad bi smak dvaput došao na red,
iz iskustva znam u zloj volji
da kažem da je za uništenje led
možda i bolji
za ovaj slijed.
